
Karpinski & Jacobsen was formed on January 1, 1992. Our clientele includes individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates and sole proprietors. Our services are adapted to the specific needs of each of our clients and their businesses, with the prime objective being to provide our clients with the best professional service when it is needed.
We offer services in the following areas: tax, accounting, new business start-up, payroll, sales tax, computer accounting system set-up and training, financial statements, business analysis and evaluation, estate planning, business valuations, and research on special tax issues. In addition, we are members of Business Advisory Service, a network of highly skilled professionals that can provide most services a business client may need.
Our office is conveniently located north of Camelback, on the east side of 40th Street in the Northbank Office Park. Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or by special appointment at other times.
Fees for our services vary with the professional providing the service; however, our goal is to provide the most cost effective service to all of our clients. If there is a way to reduce your cost, we pledge to offer you this option, even if it means lower revenues for our firm.

About Our Staff
RICHARD C. KARPINSKI, CPA » With experience in public accounting since 1968 at both the local and national level, Dick Karpinski's expertise covers a wide range of tax and accounting services. He has advised clients concerning audits of multinational corporations; corporate, trust and individual tax return preparation; estate planning, business planning and forecasting; projections for public offerings; employee search and hiring; and consulting with closely held businesses on day-to-day operations. His specialty is providing small businesses with the specific services needed to manage and control their operations.
Dick graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in accounting in 1968. Subsequently he was employed with the international accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand through 1978, at which time he acquired a local Phoenix CPA practice.
RODERICK A. JACOBSEN, CPA »Rod has been an accountant since 1970. He has worked for both national and local CPA firms, giving him a broad range of experience. His expertise includes: auditor of publicly traded corporations; accounting and tax preparation for small companies, estates and trusts; business planning; forecasting and projections; estate planning; and individual tax planning and preparation.
Rod graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. degree in 1966. Subsequently, he served in the Air Force and later taught business and government at the high school level. In 1971, he received his M.S. in Accounting from Northeastern University. He was employed by the international accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand from 1970 through 1974. Rod worked for two local firms until 1978 when he opened his own practice.
MICHAEL R. HOULIHAN, CPA » Mike's experience in public accounting began in 1976 providing accounting services for small businesses in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He obtained a license as an IRS Enrolled Agent, passing a rigorous examination on income tax law in 1978 and obtained his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1995. Mike has a vast knowledge of small business accounting, financial reporting, income taxation and representation of business clients in tax audits.
Mike graduated from Lakeland College with a B.S. in accounting and business administration and also holds an associate degree in accounting from Waukesha Technical College.
LYNETTE R. WACHTERHAUSER, CPA » Lynette’s experience began in public accounting in 1981, providing accounting services for small to medium sized businesses in New Jersey. Upon moving to Arizona in 1985, she continued providing her expertise in accounting and tax preparation for small companies, estates and trusts, forecasting and projections, estate planning, and individual tax planning and preparation.
Lynette graduated from Rutgers University with a B.S. in accounting in 1981. In 2004 she completed her MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management and obtained her Certified Public Accountant certificate.
